CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO 2005

Mr Grizzly Mint 06-25-2012 09:26 PM

Good looking car great miles. You could find a lower price but not lower miles offer 8500 and you can prob get it. Thats not low miles thats almost dealership miles basically a brand new car.

lougreen03 06-25-2012 09:43 PM

It has very low miles but the price seems a bit high. i think you should be able to find an 05 for about 6000 or so.

BlackRainSS 06-25-2012 09:50 PM

Looks good miles are good. Around here theres 01s listed for $9,000 with 100k so I don't think the price is bad but never hurts to try and get it cheaper.

Ricks 2006 SS 06-25-2012 10:07 PM

Can't hurt to try. I'd go talk to him and see how much room there is to bargin. If you get it. She'll be happy with it. I would be.

06mistreSS 06-25-2012 10:14 PM

Can't go wrong with a Monte Carlo. Good, solid cars. The 3800 is a great engine. I got to 150k on my '03 no problem, still ran like new.

03JGMonte 06-25-2012 10:23 PM

Man that is low miles, loks like a good monte

zjerry 06-25-2012 10:25 PM

That's Low Miles  Price is fair you could offer less .

The_Maniac 06-25-2012 10:30 PM

Looks nice. As an FYI, just because it has such LOW miles, do a check. Either a service like CarFax or have someone read the computer. What I mean is make SURE the cluster was not swapped on this car (CarFax and other services use public records, there is a chance if the cluster is swapped because of people reporting mileage, you may catch an odometer fraud).
And yes, it does happen, MCF has a member who did not find out until insurance said we're totally your car and informed him the mileage was about 100K more then he thought it had!!
If it checks out, it looks fairly clean. A worth while candidate. Even with the low miles, the price might be a tad high for it's age, but you can make an offer and go from there.

MonteSSS 06-25-2012 10:45 PM

thank you guys alot im going to call tomorrow and see what i can find. definitely will get the car fax, test it and take a very good look over myself. Never driven or really checked outthe 3400s but i heard they ride very well and another monte can never hurt haha

The_Maniac 06-25-2012 10:54 PM

The 3400 is the next level up of the 3100 (same block, bigger bore as what I have in my Grand Am). It's a really reliable engine. I'm pushing 220,000 on the '94 and engine/trans (different trans then the Monte) run like new, never been completely rebuilt. I have faith in these so much, for a winter beater my wife has a '05 Impala we bought with a 3400 and 150,000 when we got in December of 2009!!! Runs GREAT and I think it rides as smooth as the Monte.

Super Sport 04 06-26-2012 06:12 AM

That to me sounds like an awesome deal! Yeah it may be old but damn that's almost like getting a new car at 10k.... Your closest bet to that would be a cheap, plastic toyota econobox

I payed $8000 for my 2004 Super Sport with 88k. Came with all the options, and a ton of wear and tear on the paint, and a little on the interior.

Mike 00LS 06-26-2012 06:37 AM

The one your posting is an LT. The 2005 LT is the same as the 2000-2004 SS. In 2005 all SS cars were supercharged, so the L36 model was badged as an LT.

Tadcaster 06-26-2012 06:44 AM

Basically you are trading a higher price for such low miles. Try bringing him down but appears to be a sound monte. Do you have a Mechanic friend to check it out? Not too much could be wrong at those miles. Sure you don't want to hold out for a SS?

MonteSSS 06-26-2012 11:01 AM

haha I have an SS myself its for her its between a VW bug and this car at the moment so im just gonna se which is better

BlackRainSS 06-26-2012 12:03 PM

Its an LT basically the same thing as an SS

MonteSSS 06-26-2012 01:39 PM

yea i understand just dont like the interior not being leather

Mr Grizzly Mint 06-26-2012 06:09 PM

It is better if you are going swimming or driving naked I hate sticking to my seats.

DE02Carlo 06-26-2012 06:16 PM

Looks nice! Should last a long time if that is the correct mileage....

Carfax at least...

DO NOT BUY A BEETLE! They are one of the worst vehicles to own. Gobs of problems and no one will work on one. They rank up there with the Cadillac catera.

MonteSSS 06-26-2012 09:36 PM

hhahaha yea i do love driving naked makes me feel so free...and yea thatts true about the Vdubs but women are narrow minded when it comes to workin on cars
or at least mine is haha

03JGMonte 06-26-2012 09:44 PM

Cadillac Catera :rotfl: those were aweful & yeah beetles arnt so great newer vw cars are pretty solid cars though
