Opinions - Naked or Covered???
Which looks "cooler" to you?
An L67 with the plenum cover, or naked to expose the supercharger in all its glory? |
I like the cover myself...By now, most of the superchargers are dark and gray and just discolored. If you have an s/c that's chromed out, or powdercoated a different color, then it looks nice. This is granted that the cover is freshly painted and NOT all discoloered like most of ours are... ugh!!! :(

I have to agree with 2627.
If it's the stock look right from the factory, leave the cover on. But if you dressed up the engine with polished, chrome, or painted engine parts then take the cover off. |
what an awkward thread name lol. umm yeah id keep the cover on if its stock but it you repaint the s/c & get it all pretty (like what i'm gonna be doing soon hopefully) i'd leave the cover off
|
I still like the look of it with the plenum cover on it. If it were a V-8 with a carb & air cleaner - now that is something I would like to see LOL!!!!!!
|
I took my cover off my 3800 S2 N/A when I change the t-stat, never put it back on, engine looks more like a engine without the cover, plus the weight reduction has to be some HP :) (I am kidding, about the HP)
|
Depends on how clean you keep your engine.
|
If its stock, I say leave the cover!

Just giving my opinion here but, I have always hated any type of engine cover. Even if the engine looks like crap, I just dont know why somone would want to look at some piece of plastic instead of the power maker?? Like i said this is just my opinion, I dont want to make anyone mad.

I have a nicely painted engine cover, but I don't ever have it on the motor. Less hassle when you have to work on it. I'll only use the cover for car shows.
