Old Ray Winder Baseball Field
Here are some photos of Ray Winder Field in Little Rock. This is where the Arkansas Travelers played their baseball games. It is now abandoned and waiting either demolition or renovation into something else. It's pretty sad looking. But it is interesting.
Enjoy. Ray Winder Field pictures by decolores43 - Photobucket Ray Winder Field - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://www.digitalballparks.com/Texa...he_Net_V2T.jpg |
That's sad! I hate when they destroy history.

:( Field of Dreams Ending :(
Richard, that's so sad that they could not find the funds to keep it up & repair it...I guess like all area's that there are other major priorities  |
Sad, I love baseball.

kind of interesting that you post this because i've been meaning to go to rosenblatt stadium (college world series) here in omaha and grab some pictures since the CWS is being moved to downtown omaha and it's fate is basically "doomed". It's hosted the CWS since the 50's and is an awesome historical venue. Pretty sad to see it go :(

How long has the field been empty?
Try looking at pictures of the old field while listening to this song: Link ---> YouTube - ‪Bob Seger 1978 Famous Final Scene‬‏ Baseball fans around here know exactly how you feel. Tiger Stadium (former home of the Detroit Tigers) stood empty, unused, and abandoned for 9 years before it was finally torn down. Detroiters watched it deteriorate a slow painful death. As for Ray Winder Field. It's better to make a decision to either re-purpose it or tear it down quickly. The longer it takes, the harder it is. |
