New Rotors and pads for the Red Devil
May as well. I didn't see any really big advantage in spending all that money on brakes when the stock ones work just fine for what I am using them for. Yeah they look better but not worth that much
I bought slotted/drilled rotors on ebay in February. I've put over 10,000 miles on them and they are working great. No brake dust, it stops well with no noise and I like the look. I just used touch up paint to paint my caliper the same color as my Monte and it is holding up well too. I sprayed the caliper bracket with silver touch up and it's holding too. I figured I'd end up having to re-paint all of these since I didn't think the touch-up paint would hold up to the heat but it has.

Brakes look really nice too, same ones I had in mine a year ago and they held up great for almost 2 haha. They ended up getting warped and really noisy
when applying the brakes I could actually hear the slots and dimples on the pads lol I now have just slotted rotors, bought them from the same company and they're holding up great so far just like the first set.
I actually like these better, they feel much smoother and don't seem to let off as much brake dust as the drilled and slotted rotors did.

I hope mine don't end up feeling like that with the new pads. Kinda how it felt when they get really hot as is. I will have to keep the slotted option in mind next time. How has your Monte been?
Mine were Kinetic ceramics. I must have got the worse ones of the bunch or something.
The most important step installing new rotors and pads is the break in procedure. Otherwise you will most likely end up with reduced life expectancy, squealing, uneven brake application (pulling to one side or the other) or the famous 'warped rotor'. BTW - it is very rare that a rotor will actually warp. The pulsing you feel is the high spots of pad material that has transferred to the rotor due to improper break in.
Follow the manufactures break in procedure to insure optimal performance and service life. If no break in instructions were included:

Thanks. I did a break in procedure with the set I have now. They were good for the first 1000mi or so now they just have went south. I will read the link you included and give it a try if it's different. I think for the price I got everything for the pads were where they saved the money. They just looked cheap.
