New guy lookin for some help on anything

I just got a 2006 monte and was lookin to do some aftermarket **** to it. I already took off the resinator, debagded it, and got some sound for the stereo (2 JL audio 15's). What else can you do to an 06? I really would like the damn seat belt chime to stop to cause I don't wear one. Other than that all I have is some 20's on it. It's got the 3.9 and it seems pretty slow. I had a Dodge Decrepid I mean Intrepid and that had a 3.2 and seems just as fast if not faster. Any help? Thanks guys... ~Nick~

Welcome to the forum, Nick...I'm surprised to hear you say that the 3.9 is slow! All the other '06 owners rave about it. As far as I know, there aren't many mods out for it yet but they are in the works. I'm sure when the others catch up to this thread they will have more input.

As far as comparing to the Decrepit, My '05 LT 3.8 will run circles around those things all day and night, and the 3.9 LT3 and LTZ are much more potent than mine.

Quickest fix: wear seatbelt

Hi and welcome. Hope you put 36k miles on it before you start poking around for mods.

it's because you're trying to turn those 20's!

:D

you could always buckle the seatbelt then sit on it, thats what a lot of the cops do

and yah the speed difference could be because of the 20's, they weight a loooot more than 17's or 18's, and also they're bigger(to point out the obvious)

those jl 15's could be weighing it down too, cuz from what i remember those subs weigh a lot dont they??

do you have any pics of the car?? i'd like to see one with 20's
which JL subs did you get?? i want the 13w7's

Just my opinion, if you own the LTZ or SS they got the better sound system over the other models.

Huge difference between the system the 3LT that I was going to buy, compared to the LTZ that I did buy.

Just an FYI the same system in LTZ and SS is optional on 3LT & 2LT.

well, he doesn't have an SS, so you can rule out any of that stereo option talk... he already stated he has the 3.9L engine, so those V6 versions come with the 16" or 17" wheels/tires, and trying to spin/turn those 20's he put on is gonna be a chore...

and as far as the stereo is concerned... I've got the standard single cd/mp3 model, which is better than the BOSE system anyway... just search around and you'll find that the upgraded BOSE system is actually junk/sh*t.... it whines/whistles at low volumes, etc etc...
