LEDs are definitely a better choice.
I know a lot of people who had neons on their cars. They got harassed by the cops all the time. But that's beside the point. Neons put more burden on your electrical system than LEDs. There's a ton of reasons to go with LEDs, but I'll spare you the boring details. I'm trying to decide what color would go best with the burgundy exterior and tan interior. That's a tough one. I'm thinking red maybe. But there's more than just red or blue available. So I don't know. |

I had a neon kit on a 92' escort, it was a cool look. the car sat so low it looked like it was floating. I had a few problems with the neon, the tube that was in the back broke a few times. I finally found someone locally that made neon signs, I had them make me a tube with longer leads for the electrodes, that one lasted longer that the one that came in the kit.
I think the reason that they kept breaking is the couldn't take the vibration.I had a very loud Lanzar system in it, I had 4 12"'s in a isobaric box about 100lbs of dynamat in it. I filled the spoiler with great stuff foam to stop it from vibrating. I also got a bunch of tickets for driving with it on. I think I will have to check out the LED's, I wanted when I had the escort but didn't have the patience to make them up myself. |
