Need 3rd gen help

Hey everyone,

Need a little help for a friend of mine that has a 78 Landau. He took it to a guy to get it up and running again and this person told him that he had a rare car.
Said it had a 350 with a 4-speed manual. Told him only 100 of these cars were built. Either I'm not smart enough to do a proper google search (which may be true) or I'm looking in the wrong place, but I am having difficulty finding any information about such cars.
Does anyone out there have any information to share about a 78 with a 350 block??? Also, this guy told him it would cost $5-6 K to get the engine done because it was seized up. Pulled the engine out of my own 72 and had it redone and it cost no where near that much. I think he is getting played. Thoughts on that as well?

Thanks for the help!

Here's a link for some info 1978 Chevrolet (USA) Monte Carlo 3gen Coupe full range specs Not sure how rare but guessing he is a lucky guy to have this car. As for $5-6 grand for the engine that's way over priced. Could get a New crate engine with lot's of power for that money, rebuild the engine in question for a lot less, or get a rebuilt with warrenty for about a $1000. If it's a 350 like you say it's not original to the car so numbers matching are gone.
