Monte Carlo... lugnuts question.
I can not get my lug nuts off. The morons at Network Alignment seemed to put them on way too tight. I feel if I can't get them off with a four way, they are too dang tight. Unless they are right handed threads. Can someone confirm if they are or not? I need to take it to somewhere to get them loosened, and then tightened the right amount.
I'm sure they just went pppppprrrrrrrrdddd, with the impact wrench. It's friggin aggravating. |
find yourself the right size socket, a ratchet try for 1/2 drive, if you have a floor jack unbolt the handle and wamo big breaker bar
|
Hey, thanks for the advice. I will probably go down and pick up a 1/2 breaker bar tomorrow. I wish I had a floor jack, but I don't.

random long peive of pipe? or somthing with a peicce of pipe attached to it that can be removed or used with it on there... i've got a old pipe bender i use good 4foot pipe! then there's the occasional fence pipe
|
funny, I had an aluminum bat when I was playing baseball as a kid and my brother cut it in half so you could use the handle part on the end of a ratchet and break hard to bolts loose! :D
|
i use the spare tire wrench deal thing, works good for me...
|
If you use a breaker bar I would use a 6 point socket if available (less chance of slipping and rounding off the lug). Also A few taps with a hammer may help. once you get them off a light coat of grease always helps so they dont seize up from salt or road grime.

Hey, thanks for the tips. At least salt is one thing I don't have to worry about. I'm live in Phoenix:D.
