Default might be buying another monte. need your help

Hi all. I might be getting a 2000 monte ss this weekend. A friend is selling it. I know it has a lot of miles and he told me it needs rear brakes and one headlight.

He needs cash 2 fix his wifes car so I think I can get it pretty cheap like around 1000.

What should I look for as far as mechanical things go? I wanna make sure I remember everything so I know how much I might have 2 drop into it.

I might be lookin at it tonight to get a better idea. I will post picsw of it on here if I go.

Thanks

This is kinda spur of the moment. He needs cash and is willing to sell cheap and I need a winter car so me and the gf have an extra to depend on this winter. (Idk how much longer her saturn sl2 will last it burns a quart of oil every week)

I am still considering those rims...bastards on craigslist never showed up to buy my car audio

Check the transmission fluid. If you can jack the car up check the bearings by trying to move the wheels with your hands, left and right and up and down.

Brakes are whatever.

Then it's just a matter of checking everything else you would check on a 10.5 year old car.

Of course, if it is black it is worth it

For 1000 I say go for it. Even if you had to put 500 into it I'd say it's worth it.
