looking into buying an 87 ss.

The car runs mint. Engine and tranny are in good condition, but the body is another story. The driver's door and quarter panel have a little bit of rot, and the trunk is all rotted out. On a scale of 1-10, the rot in the trunk is about a 7. The guy selling it wants 700. Would you say it's worth it to buy and invest in?

Stock drivetrain? miles?

Doors are easy to replace, but replacing quarters gets expensive, how is the rest of the body? frame? floors? If its a T-top car check around the tops, pillars etc. It's hard to judge from a short description and no pics, but if the rest of the car is in pretty good shape then it may be worth it for what it is (I would still talk him down more though) - but you have to understand it will take a good amount of money to make it "nice" again.
