is there any kind of silicone or anything along those lines to fix a leaky fuel tank...

I had a leak in my stump puller pickup and used plumbers silicone. It will get you out of a pinch until you can replace the tank.

Whats causing the leak? not much out there will adhere to a wet surface.

most of those things are a temporary fix, i REALLY believe you just need to get a new fuel tank. swing by the auto parts store and aks if theres anything you can do for a temporary fix, but ultimarly, you will need a new tank. btw, no offense, but i find it ironic your name on the forum is "full monte"

what's so ironic about it?? and yeah i tjust want something as a temp fix till i can afford a new fuel tank. it's leaking where the top and bottom pieces of the tank join together

If you let it dry for awhile a silicone might work, but honestly if possible I would park it and get a new tank. That is wicked dangerous driving around with a leaky tank.

Oh, and it made me laff too, because if you have a leaky gas tank you'll never have a "FULL" monte for long.... as in a full gas tank..... get it?

Around here, if a cop notices that your car is leaking fuel, they will pull you over and immediately remove the plates from the vehicle.

I wouldn't take a chance at a fuel fire. One little spark is all it takes.
