Intermediate shaft clunk

On monte has developed the intermediate steering shaft clunk that most 2000+ gms get and I know theres a TSB and updated parts for it. Other then the noise is there any safety concerns? I'd like to eventually replace it to get rid of the noise, but just can't at the moment, but if it poses a safty concern I'll find a way to do it. Thank you for any info

I believe it's just more annoying than anything else. Simple fix:

Get some WD-40 (or a good white grease that you can spray easily)
Push driver's seat back, crawl under dash. Unclip both pins and drop the bottom of the dash onto the brake/gas pedals.
Look up, and find a black "boot" and pull it away (down, or towards the brake pedal)
You will notice a "greenish/bluish ring" and what looks like a joint. There's the source of your noise. Spray liberally, and put back together.

Problem solved for the next few months.

I did this to mine back in December. I'm noticing some noise again, so I'm going to spray it some more probably this weekend.
