Heater Gauge Way Off Mark. Is There A Fix?

The Heater Gauge has lost it's accuracy.

After a Jump Start gone bad, ... the Heater Gauge Needle was all the way around to 9 O'Clock, ... leaning on the Gas Gauge Pivot.

I thought when I got my new Battery; the thing fixed itself. Nope.

Now, it goes way beyond the Red, almost to the Gas Gauge all the time and "Parks" when the power is cut, (Ign-Off) just above 3 O'Clock, midway.

Is there a way to get in there and "Goose-it" to make the Needle get-back, get-back, get-back to where it once belonged???

If anybody had this happen and knows a reset or a simple fix, ... please let me know. This is like Bamboo chutes in my fingernails, ... it's bothering me.

Who knows what to do to make the Gauge accurate and to undo this mess?

sorry man. sad to say but its like aids for 6th monte carlos and impalas. its called stuck needle. bbengineer is the guy i know that deals with that. my fuel and heater gauge gets stuck, my quick fix is to put the key in the ignition and very quickly flip it back and forth from off and on position. im pretty sure it will get stuck again after u drive the car and shut her off again. sorry but happens to alot of people with these cars

The Needle's NOT stuck. It's just in the wrong position. Instead of being at 5:O'Clock when you first get in the car (Before starting it), ... it's already above 3'O'Clock.
The Needle MOVES fine. As the car heats-up the Needle goes UP and through the RED, past 12:O'Clock and acts like its being controlled by the sended. It's just "Jumped" a notch and the reading is way off. The MOVEMENT is fine. The position is way off. Starts off at NORMAL instead of COLD.
