Headroom: sunroof vs. no sunroof

Need some advise: I've always wanted to get a Monte Carlo for a daily driver, looking at 2000-2005 range, but I test drove a 2002 LS yesterday with a sunroof and my head hit the roof of the interior just enough to be uncomfortable enough for me not to buy the car...now I lowered the power seat as low at it would go and even had another person about my height (6' 1") try it and they also had the same problem. Do Monte Carlo's without the sunroof have any more headroom?? Am I (we) doing something wrong with the seat controls on this 02 LS? I'm finding it hard to believe that GM designed this car so that anyone 6 feet or taller can't comfortably drive this car...my 75 T/A has more headroom than this.

any help is appreciated.

i'm 6'9" tall and what i have to do is have the seat lowered all the way, then tipped quiete a ways back but i love it...and am very comfortable that way cuz thats the way i always sit...lots of leg room too

but mind you not many people can sit behind me..lol

was going to same the same as the giant whiz kid. but im only 6'3" and i have my seat all the way down and back and then a coupel of clicks tilted back. i have also tilted it with the power seat and had no issues also.
Kids behind me dont suffer from it to much but adults sit back there and most of the time it is the short wife i have LOL

same here

I'm 6'4' and I just have the seat all the way back and reclined a little bit. I have no problems at all fitting in the car. Get one with a sunroof you will like it alot more

To me, the cars with the sun roof seem to have extra head room.

With the headliner recessed at that point (for the sun roof) and even with the sun roof cover.

yah...use the power part of the seat to tip it back too..that helps a bit...but reclining the seat really helps...i can't sit too close to the wheel

Was going to say the same thing, I'm 6'1 and had no problems with headroom in my LS with a sunroof. Seat all the way down and tipped back a bit, no problemo.

I am like all the above.

I am 6' 2"
Seat all the way back and tilted just a little

I would not own a car without a sunroof.

the sunroof doesn't actually do much for me...when its hot i'd rather have the a/c on

i feel yall too, i keep my seat all the way back, 2 clicks back and im comfortable. anyway other then that and i have to keep my legs bent or otherwise be uncomfortable. and as my car doesnt have a headliner ATM i dont have to worry bout my big head hitting it LOL
