gen question

What gen is my 1980 Monte? I wasn't sure if it was a 3rd gen or 4th gen.
Thanks
Aaron

Aaron,

It is a 3rd gen, 1978-1980.

Cool, thanks. That is what I thought but I was not sure.

For future reference, Wikipedia has a pretty good article about the Monte Carlo that breaks down all the various generations and has photos of Montes from each gen:

Before the comment comes up. Wikipedia shows 06 & 07 Montes as being 6th gen. GM also considers them 6th gen officially. We call them 7th gen here on this forum out of a choice we made ourselves. Because of the many differences between them and the 2000 - 2005 models.
