DRL Bypass/Disable Harness

Has anyone ever used this before? The only way that I have found to disable the DRL lights is to take out the DRL relay under the hood but the service engine soon light comes on and I hate that.
If you have used it, is it hard to install? Are there detail instructions on how to install it? Any help would be appreciated.... Thank you.

What year is it? Because if it's a 2004 or 2005, the SES light shouldn't come on if you do that. On 2004 MCs, I think you can remove the relay and you shouldn't get a SES light. I know for sure that you can do it on 2005 models. 2006 and 2007 I believe have an entirely different setup when it comes to the DRLs.

I have 2005 Monte carlo SS supercharged , I cut off pin 87 from the daytime running lights relay. No SES light came on , auto headlights still work. It's been like that for over 18 months now no problems..:)

I have a 2003. If I cut off pin 87 would it work too?

Does anyone have any idea how to disable the DRL on an 06?

I'm guessing this would be the same with the 05LT?

I've tried painting the sensor with black touch up paint but it didn't help at all

For 2005, you can do the Pin 87 trick as the DRLs are the low beams and are not monitored by the BCM

For 2000-2004, the Pin 87 trick doesn't work since the BCM is looking to see if the high beams are indeed lit when it commands the DRLs on. You will get a "Highbeam Out" in the message center. If you remove the DRL relay, you will get a "Service Vehicle Soon" in the message center

The DRL/ALC bypass is very easy to install... Instructions are here:

Feel free to PM or email me if you have any other questions

Also, for 2005 Montes, the low beam headlights double as the DRLs. That might be why I can remove the whole relay, disable the DRLs, and still have the automatic headlights with no SES light. The Pin 87 trick should work also, but I've yet to try it.

It should work on the LT and the SS as well. Different powertrains, but essentially the same wiring harnesses.

Honestly, what most 7th Gen owners have done (since you have the option) is just flip the switch and turn the auto lights off. I really wish GM would have kept that ability in the 6th gen (I have it on my 2004 Silverado).

The pin thing sorta worked?

Lights still auto come on when it's darker out

What would happen if I cut the 87a pin?
