Default Dash peeled up.

Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone here. I have an '06 LS and noticed about a week ago that the dash was peeled up right at the front window defroster. I took it to the dealer and thankfully they covered it under the warranty. Also guess there were two recalls on it. One for a reprogramming and another for a power steering hose. Both were done but I figured they would have checked on that stuff before they even sold the car.

Anyway, anyone had the dash problem happen?

not yet, is it very noticeable?? and did they do the recalls at the same time? actually, do they check these things when certain vehicles come in, like an "automatic check" for recalls? is that what all dealerships do?

It was replaced today. It wasn't too noticeable. I initially thought it was like that til I looked at it from the front and saw the padding under it. I pushed on it and realized it shouldn't be like that as it would move up and down. Yeah, they did both recalls at once.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

I'll keep an eye out for it happening on my car.

Can't say I've heard of this issue. We're not known for it yet anyways. Maybe it was a one time thing and you just got a lemon! Anyways, we hope you well in the rest of your journeys and hope that it doesn't happen again!

ok, can anyone answer the question about how recalls work, if I take my care to a dealer to have maintenance work, do they automatically check for recalls? it sounds like that is what happened in this case. let me know, thanks

Local dealer does any time mine go in. They checked the '03 Pace car and the '06 LTZ each time I've had the cars there.

NOTE:
That's why they gave me zhit over replacing the headlights on the '06. Several '06 members posted the chrome inside was dulling out. So I asked the dealer to replace mine. (after I checked mine against a 2007 Impala)
They refused.
I called Chevy and got an "Okay" from Mike for the work to be done. Dealer still wouldn't perform the work.

Did they eventually do the work anyway?

lmao i keep hearing these recalls for the 06 that are on my 07. ya the defroster slot sits over the dash. imo its supposed to be under. it rattles like heak, i always attributed it to all the vibrations coming from the trunk but maybe the sun or the dash melted it. not that big of a deal but come on now the 06 and 07 are the same cars minus a tpms. they should have the same recalls.
