Daoes the 3400-SFI Engine have Rev-Limiting?

Does the 3400 SFI Engine on 04 Monte Carlo have Rev-Limiting through the Ignition Coils or Computer?

If so ... where does it kick-in?

on a 3800, before i had mine removed, seems like it was 4500 in neutral, but i didn't rev that much. its got one though, controleed by teh computer. you'll hear it bouncing off. its like it hits a point and then it bounces up and down within 100 rpm or so. strange sound...

itsa fuel cut off, i'm thinking in the neighborhood of 6000rpm... i dont recommend testing that unless u need to relearn maximum crankshaft/camshaft position variance.

RE: Daoes the 3400-SFI Engine have Rev-Limiting?

If the Rev Limiter is a factor that can be Dialed-in ... I'd like to set it below RED Line and keep this Old Engine (if 70,000 miles is old) below the Danger Zone.
Not that I plan on lining-it-up at a Strip watching the lights on the Christmas Tree come on down from Red to Green ... but, I would like to have that Insurance that I ain't permitted going-over a certain established NEW Limit that I could impose in the area where the Mill ain't going to be overtaxed and me wind-up spinning a bearing or whatever migh happen from getting too close to where the Engineers figured it shouldn't exceed for fun or profit ... mostly fun!

I put a DYNA Rev Limiter on both of my bikes and the good feelind of having that restraint is keeping a couple of 1983 Yamaha's rolling instead of being parted-out after a Red Light -to- Red Light challenge.

Just to be safe and NOT sorry!
