Complete Rear Brake Overhaul - Parts & Labor??
I brought the Monte in for an Oil Change and the Service Manager escorts me out to the car ... still on the lift ... and shows me a few things.
Dr Side Rotor :: Rusted :: Caliper Seized. Psgr Side Brake Pads need replacing. He tells me that I need: Calipers Rotors Pads > Front & Rear He said I'm looking at 12-15 Hundred. If I get a kid to help me and buy aftermarket parts, ... how much am I looking at? |
You can get all the parts you'd need at AutoZone or the like. Pads are cheap and very easy to change. For the most part, I do that myself (except in the winter because I'm not crawling around the driveway, covered in snow).
Pads - 30-40ish (front) 50-60ish (rear) Rotor - 121.99 (front) Caliper - 60-70ish (front) |
That's total BS! And mogwog is right, parts are very reasonable for these cars. It's an easy task to tackle in your driveway some weekend but make sure you bleed the brakes when done. If it's not in your DNA to do the work yourself, the automotive shop at your local Walmart, Sam's Club or even Sears can do the job for a fraction of that cost.

A hell of a lot cheaper than $1200-1500. That's STUPID!
Get your car out of there. |
Id say 450-500 if your paying the kid to help you

I'd never go back to this dealer.

Hate dealerships...they will do anything to rip a person off...
