Camry will run with Monte SS

Camry will run with Monte SS
New 2007 Camry with a V-6 does 0-60 in 6 seconds flat!! That is the exact same number that Motor Trend reported the Monte Carlo SS with a 5.3 V-8 does. Just wanted to see what everyone thought of this. If you need to verify check out Motor Trend road tests. I was shocked.

RE: Camry will run with Monte SS
What version of the Camry? I checked MSN and they report 6.7 seconds... bit of a differance there.[&:]
Their XLE with the 3.5L puts out 268 HP and weighs 3516. It also states hitting the quarter at 15.05 which is about right.
I think I want Motor Trend's track to time my 0-60 sometime.

Cain Was that just a play with words ?
Any car can run with any car, but I think there are very few
FWD V-8's that will out perform a Monte SS & beat it.
Good Post....Good Debate....Let's Race
I think Toyota makes a excellent product & a powerful
engine for only a 3.5 liter. I really think it would be a better
contest against a Chevy 3.9 liter engine. In the real world
I think a V-8 Monte SS would Smoke a Toy
Interesting Post & I will look forward to the replies & comments....

RE: Camry will run with Monte SS
No matter how beautiful Toyota's, Honda's or any other Import car looks, I will never buy one. When I spend my hard earned dollars I want to know they are staying within North America. Yes I know the argument that many of the imports are built in North America, but the bottom dollar ends up overseas. I will continue to buy domestic and always will. Great cars, great price and great value.
You just cant beat the TORQUE either! Look at the differences between the monte and the camry...................

RE: Camry will run with Monte SS
Performance is just one thing to look at when evaluating a car. All those foreign cars look the same to me. I may be just getting old, but I can't tellthe difference between a Toyota, Honda, Hyundai or any other one. At one time I could look at the logo on it and tell what it was, but I can't even do that anymore. They are all boring, cookie cutter cars.I guess when I get to the point of just wanting a car that does perform well, never breaks down, and gets great gas mileage, but don't care that itsthe same as everyone else's car, I'll look at getting one. Until then, give me a car that everyone notices and comments on while I'm gassing up!
