Brother-In-Law's 02 LS

Well...I suppose this is where it all began(at least, again)

My Mom and Dad owned quite a few monte's throughout my childhood. Many of which I'm too young to remember. I remember her telling me stories of cruising in the 86, the 74(she had 2 of those, and they are, by far my favorite!) and the 79 with the side pipes..... cue drooling memories.

Anyway, she went out one day, on a 'drive'...she tends to disappear for hours, sometimes a couple days, at a time. Returning with something completely impractical and expensive..(one time she disappeared for 2 days, only to return(from virginia) with a Presa Canario, a dog she spent $1750.00 for...http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images23...og12Mohths.jpg

This time....was better than that.
It was a 2002 Monte Carlo LS. White. Beautiful. I was smitten. But, then...as my mom often does, she got tired of it.

Cue Brother-In-Law.

My main-man Chris, had a Gorgeous 1979(ish) Chevy Dually Pick-up. He needed something to commute to work with...and she, wanted something different. Clean trade.

So, my b-i-l is now the owner. He's in the process of fixing everything that the previous owners had damaged and disfigured. But, I thought I'd throw up a few pics for my 'other' family. So, here they are.

Not much....but something worth sharing with my Monte Carlo Family. I'm trying to coax him into joining the forum...but he's super busy most of the time. He's a truck driver, and his free time is spent mostly with his newborn, and my sister.

That's about it, guys. What'd'ya's think?

It looks like it's in really good shape

It is in pretty good shape. Except for the wheel well rust(who doesn't have that?) and the drivers side door was sagging, and instead of fixing it, the P.O. let it start rubbing the quarter panel. I'm pretty sure he's taken care of that, though.
There were a few electrical problems with it. He had to replace to MFS and Hazard switches. Not much else has gone wrong, thus far.

That story is pretty legit, random impractical things make the world go round.

X2
There doesn't appear to be a lot of major work needing done, unless there is hidden rust. A little TLC and elbow grease that thing could be looking showroom fresh.

BAHAHAHA! I JUST noticed the plate being on top of the filler!!! That is hilarious! I'll have to tell him about that one..

Most of the problems were electrical. The P.O. had ripped out the stock stereo to do aftermarket, but botched the job horribly. And, as I stated, the M.F.S. and the hazard switches were both out.

No hidden rust on her. Just the bit showing through on the wheel wells. I'm kinda jealous of his Monte Carlo Crest badges on the sides behind the windows..Did they come stock? Or, did a P.O. apply them?

Oh, and the dog....Her name was Aja. She was HUUGE! Not worth almost $2,000 dollars. But, still an amazingly smart and lovable dog. Mom got tired of her, too. And sold her back to the original owners at a $500 loss.
