Most of the time a weld is stronger than the metal itself, if it was weaker our whole cars would fall apart sence there welded pieces of metal

You guys make very good points. Our cars are all welds. And racecar roll cages are welded. And they survive hitting a wall at 200 MPH. It really comes down to how good of a welding job was done. When you're buying a car with repaired frame damage, it comes down to the qualty of the work. Unless you know who did it, you're taking a chance that it may have been done by someone who's not very good. Which is why most people avoid salvage titled cars.

All u gotta do is look at it closely its usuallly pretty easy to tell half ass frame work

i actually think your wrong here. 2 pieces of metal welded together correctly should actually be as strong as one piece of metal. take nascar roll cages for example you dont see them breaking in accidents at the weld. the bars themselves have a better chance of bending than breaking the welds.
