Default Which is better for the price?

I have been looking at the Hypertech Programmer for my 04 SS but it is kinda pricey. A few places off pcm reprogramming for alot less. Which is the better idea to go with? Pros and Cons are what I am basically looking for.

Thanks!!

Default RE: Which is better for the price?

hypertech- i have one i will sell ya .
I would like to get one of the other reprogrammers out ther ethat works with my lap top.
but the pro's
you can use it anytime that ya want to do it. so this means you cna plug it in and do things to the car in your drive way.
you can change shift points.
you can remove limitors
you can chaeck codes in the car.
you cant mes sup your cars computer very easily. (great for a first timmer )
you can change the speedo to work with diffrent tire and wheel sizes
you can reprogram for lower octane gas and still "get better mileage" i tried this mine didnt change enough for me to keep it that way.
Cons.
to me it just dont do wha ti would loke to with my car .
If you plan to do more to the car for preformance you are limited on to wha tyou cna reprogram with the hypertech.

With the programed puter that is done for you.
has most of the same things tha tthe hypertech dose.
works on most N.A, cars (non supper charged)
to reprogram your car back to stock you hav eot take out the comeputer and change it to the Org. or buy a new puter.
you dont have the flexability with the tranny changes. you are stuck with what they give you.

to be honest if i had to do it all over again and i had to chose between teh two choices her.
i would still get the hypertech . jus tso i have controll over wha ti have programed and what i dont
but this is the sam eargument that i went threw when i bought mine.
