Bats Out Of Hell Wearing Chevy Bow Ties!
The lead car was a black, late model, Chevy Impalla SS with EasyPass.
In second place was a new, all white, Chevy Traverse.
In third place was my '04 beige Chevy Monte'.
We all left the Toll Booths leaving New York State entering Massachusetts and starting the uphill climb into the Berkshere Foothills vying for the lead.
The SS went straight up the gut and just put the hammer down with nothing but empty road ahead of him.
The Traverse got through Booth ahead of me because I went far to the right seeing the EasyPass Lane clear.
As I went to the far right lane, a Trailer Truck exited the Tolls and started up the stretch where the six lanes of Toll Booth exits a short straight which rapidly narrows to a two lane stretch of never-ending Interstate.
I could see the SS pouring-on the coal.
I went through the EasyPass Gate marked 15mph at a little above 40 mph.
The Traverse was to the left of the Trailer Truck.
I took the 18 Wheeler on the right, locked in second with my foot on the floorboard.
Moved the shift lever to third when I moved alongside the Cab of the Truck with the Monte locked in third, left side wheels humming above rumble-strip and my wife doing the "Play-by-play" for this move by telling the audience: "Massey is being an a&&hole and is begging for a Speeding Ticket, today.
Left lane.
SS, Traverse and Monte. 1, 2, 3 heading across the Mass Pike ... 88 MPH. Monte on Cruise. Radar detector falls-off dash. Stays on floor.
Sign: Trucks Test Brakes
He we go. Over the hump.
Downhill. Road clear for as far as the eye can see.
Impala in the Lead. OK by me. I'm watching his brake lights.
Traverse staying in the left lane and not letting me pass.
Fine with me.
I'm on his six as we head down the long sweeper into the Connecticut River Valley doing 103 MPH.
(Play-by-play)
"Richard, you've had enough fun. Try slowing down to below 80 for a little while, please!"
Playing in traffic.
Rockin-out in the Monte.
Listing to the Best of the Oldies weekend.
These cars are fun!

I love that part of the masspike but when I'm in that area sometimes like to switch it up a bit and get off at the Lee exit and cruise through the Berkshires on rt 20 staright into West Springfield then Jump back on the Pike. That used to be my playground in the 80's

The RickCoMatic Monte is a 3400 LS. But, it pretends to better equipped. I did get the "Chrome Bow-Tie Shaped Exhaust Tip". That seems to make it go faster, ... a little bit. I dressed-up the Engine Compartment by coloring the raised "3400" on the Manifold with a Red Magic Marker. Looks sweet! I'm one of the few damn-fools that don't hit-the-road without the Windex and paper towels. If there's a chance of rain; I shoot some MaGuyers Insta-wax on the windshield and buff it out. Truck drizzle won't slow you down!
