anyone else get a letter for recall on your monte?
 

I just got a letter from chevorlet for a recall on my monte stating it may catch fire I wasnt going to take it because i got 251,xxx miles and I was thinking with that many miles it will be fine but I dont want to risk losing my monte so I made an appointment for thursday at 120 i told them that my car will only start with the push button because I had to bypass the nuetral safety switch when I changed my trans and they said thats fine.they said its only takes 15 mins to fix so I advise everyone to check into your montes call the dealer with the vin number and they will check for recalls on it

If i recall, this is a recall from years ago, interesting that you're just getting a letter.

Yes, that is an old recall. It refers to the spark plug looms (which they remove at the dealer) so oil won't drip onto the exhaust manifold and potentially start a fire.
