70 Monte Carlo 383...... (STRONG)

I'm new to this site but it looks like I'm going to like this place.
A little over 4 months I bought my neighbors 1970 Monte 350. I was kind of leary being this would be my first M/C.Ever sence my neighbor moved next door he has owned that M/C he was the 2 owner.
He findily decided to sell it but not really, all he did was just put a sign in the window and parked it on the street we lived on which was on a culdersack. ANY HOW when I bought the car I paid $2,800 which I have come to find out I got a GREAT price 1970 Monte Carlo 78,987 miles 350 A/T P/S A/C every thing works and all stock but VERY NICE shape! 1-5 a strong 3.
I boght the car and drove it to the shop that was just 3-5 miles away. Pulled the car on the lift and proceded to pull the motor and trans.
A 383 thats what had to be done.
Another $3,000 And I still think I have a steal
3 months later "IT LIVES"
Basic motor 70 350 .30 bore 4 bolt main block, 400 scat crank ,KB pistons, mild cam,750 CFM Edelbrock AFB carb & intake and nice headers and exaust, and switced over to HEI ignition.
JUST FIRED THE BEAST OVER TODAY Feb.24.06 This is going to be one very strong car.
I haven't even dialed it in. Problem #1 Rear end, peg leg, at 40mph it will break lose(tire) and start smoking the tire,no BS. with out really even getting in to it too hard.
Now the hard part the body work, all thoe the body is in great shape to be 36 Years old.
I will keep everyone posted.
I need fenders and rockers panels if any one knows a good place to look.
sorry for my post 13 Hrs.work 5 Hrs domestic and I barley spell or think.
Any help if anyone knows any THANKS.
Randy
