The release of the 2009 Dodge Challenger won't be the first time Chrysler introduced a car at the tail end of the muscle-car craze — the original Challenger hit the streets in 1970, six years after the Ford Mustang and four after Chevy's Camaro, which will be getting its own resurgence with the release of the 2009 Chevy Camaro. There's a reason the car is named "Challenger."

I love my Chevy, but I would soooo take the Challenger any day of the week!!! We need a poll added to this.

i'm with wizzing kid myself... that camaro does not appeal to me at all. the challenger looks very similar to the eary 1970's versions (i have a model of one in my room thats purple, looks a LOT like that thing) and teh challenger will mostlikelybe packing the 430 hp 6.0L engine, possibly somehting more powerful by then. Camaro could be packing the LS7 engine with a little more power, but i'm still taking the Challenger my self.

Yeah, that's tough one. I'm for the Camaro, even though wiz kidd doesn't like the "Smiley Face" front end. Just ribbin ya, wiz!!:)

I think there will definitely be an intense shootout between the two. I'd like to drive both and see how they compare.

Wasn't the challenger supposed to come out in 08?

That Challenger looks so freaking sick just imagine it with black paint and some white racing stripes with some nice rims <3

The Challenger would be a nice car if it wasn't a Dodge. I will most definatly being buying the Camaro. The only decission I need to make is am I going for the Z/28 or the SS. I guess price will dictate that as I set my budget at $34-36K
