2004 turn signal
Does anyone know where the turn signal relay is on 2004 Monte SS? Turn signals light but won't blink, I'm guessing the relay. Thanks for any help.

The relay is part of the Hazard switch assembly. The only way to get that off (that I know of) is to remove the dash panel trim. There is a screw in the glove box, two screws underneath the driver's side kick panel, and one underneath the left fuse panel. Once those are off, the black trim piece comes off. Also, you'll have to move the shifter all the way back to "1" to get that out of the way. Set the parking brake and remove the key from any key rings etc. so that the key can slide through.
This is a video for removing the Instrument cluster, Headlight switch, etc. YouTube - How to Remove a 00-05 Monte Carlo Dash Please note that while this is an LS, the SS has the same setup (with the exception of the Instrument Cluster having more gauges in it). The Hazard switch is held in place by plastic clips. Be careful here.. One wrong move and the plastic clips can break off. After replacing that switch assembly, your turn signals should start working again. Hope this helps. Good luck!:) |
