2001 Monte SS

Hey, guys. Lookin for a little help and direction. I am going to (attempt) changing the spark plugs and wires on my 2001 SS with a standard 3.8. I can get to the front 3 plugs and wires no problem. BUT the plugs in back, not so easy. Any suggestions on how to change them? This is my first time attempting to change them myself. Side note: Has ANYONE ever heard of this next part being done or done it themself? Someone told me to: pop the hood, unscrew the bolts in the bracket in front of the motor/attached to the frame, and put a tow rope or comealong around the motor and tilt/inch it forward to get some working space. WTF? Has anyone ever done or heard of this?

Yes its called tilting the engine . There's a tool to do the described job but a ratchet strap or come along will work. Good luck

Use a real spark plug socket. The ones that have the retaining washer.

Here is a video on it

Here is a video on it they did an impala but its pretty much the same. I don't hook to the front bumper cause I have to much stuff to damage, I have hooked to the front of my other car.

When I attempted it, I did find it a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Just had to make sure to use the right size socket, etc.

Once you get it done, you'll say the same thing.

broken spark plug.

Hey guys, need some advice. Changing spark plugs and one broke in half. Cant use an easy out b/c the metal running through the plug is stopping it from going all the way into it. Any suggestions?

What is your definition of broke in half ? It doesn't matter if the porcelain broke off of the plug you can still remove it without a issue.. If you broke the metal of the plug and still have some in the plug hole. Providing the porcelain is out you can either Make the easy out bend the metal electroid and pray the threads come out or opinion B is pull the cylinder head. Depending on which cylinder you might be able to use a punch to bend the electroid. Good luck
