1983 monte carlo cl with T tops

If they stoped making t tops in 82 and reintroduced in 85, why do I have t tops? thinking of selling it but someone said it very rare or its a fake.

If your a Monte Guru? help me out,

If its really rare then Its already messsed up with a 383 stroker and this and that.

dont know about your car. But the model year comes midway through the year. Maybe they messed up and put a t top on an 83 while the 82s were finishing production. my 70 dart was built october 1969. btw

Look up your options and see if it has the code for t tops option.

yea they made 70 darts in 69 but it would of been cool if it was on the tittle lol

your front end does not look like an 83. it should be more aerodynamic. 83 was the return of the ss. I think someone modified your car but to be sure look up the options

Do you know for sure what model year it is? I would assume it would be on your registration. The fourth gen Montes are notorious for having the front ends swapped out. Mostly to make SS clones. But it wouldn't surprise me if someone changed the front end on yours.

Rare or not, a car is only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it. It would be nice if it was a super rare car. Like the aerocoupes.

Its very much a 83 cl. even says v8. I dont think it would effect the cost. but its rare to me, because I live in NY and theres no rust :).

An 83 in a northern state, with no rust? That is rare.

What's the rubber like for the T-tops? Any leaking? Or any water damage in the upholstery from leaking over the years? That would be rare too. T-tops were notorious for leaking. Or just being stolen back in the day. Around here, T-tops (just the glass tops) got stolen like crazy back in the 80's.

coundnt find the rpo code for t tops the list is massive. How I found out it was made in 69 was the build sheet under the backseat. Dont know if chevy did it like chrysler. They put police package on some civilian cars too. In mopar a few years pack there was a satalite with a police package hemi not to many of those I think only 3 were made if I remember the article right. There is always a chance the factory makes a car wrong I think they do it sometimes on purpose lol.
