07 MCSS Clicking under the dasboard

2007 MCSS: I am getting a clicking noise from behind the glove box in the dash. I sounds like a relay chattering maybe. It happens mostly when I shut the car off. It will chatter/click for about 60 seconds then stop. Any ideas? It's driving me nuts.

Air ventilation system. Blend door actuator. Make your peace with it....

I've changed mine three or four times and it keeps coming back. Cheap parts. I can avoid it if I never let it go into recirculation mode, but sometimes I don't catch it in time...

The only time mine really acts up is when I change the temp on the passenger side. So I don't do that and it stays quiet :rotfl:

I'm having the same problem on my 2006! There has to be a good way to solve this.

Dealership will have them, maybe some online places. The problem is the replacement part is the same so they're going to fail again at some point - like chifan said, he's had 3 or 4 replaced and they've all started doing it again. That's why I haven't spent the time/money/effort to fix it - not worth it if I know it's going to fail again. I just learned what a/c controls not to mess with on mine and it doesn't do it.

Had the same issues on my 08 Impala. All 3 of mine died at some point, and some died a second time, and even a third.

The only ones I continued to replace were the two for temperature control. For the inside/outside door, I just unplugged it, pushed it to the position I wanted it in, and left it.

I was constantly replacing the ones in my 07 Impala. I bought a Dorman lifetime warranty one off of Amazon, and just kept getting them replaced for free. Since they are all the same part number, it was easy to just keep getting free ones and mailing back broken ones. Easy $20 spent.

I changed both of them on the passenger side. No more noise Thank God

How long did it take and did you have to disassemble anything to access them?
