`Dream Choice of a New Monte ?
I voted 4th Gen. V8 and RWD. How can you loose with a combo like that?
The (1988) SS model came from the factory with 180 hp (134 kW).
2006-2007 3.5 L 211 hp SAE (157 kW)
(and from reading the wikipedia thing- as low as 110 hp w/ a v6)I love the styling on the 4th gen's, but the lackluster factory powerplants would really turn me off on getting a brand new one- given all the other options.

I voted upgraded 6th generation cause I would love a V8 SS Monte.
That was before I realized I could vote for a 4th generation Monte. Which I would LOVe to own an '87/88 SS or an '86 aerocoupe. Since I already own a V8 '86 Monte I need to specify my wants.

Just wondering where this photo was taken or who found it posted on the net?
Cause I see Cort's blue '87 LS setting back there.
PS. The white Monte featured in the photo looks like a car owned by a man named Mark Smith from Illinois. Mark's car is a clone SS. Not that this fact detracts from Mark's car cause even as a SS clone his car is A-1.

Taz, I didn't know any 1st generation Monte came with swivel buckets? I know the 2nd generatons did. (bought a set for a former girlfriend for the large sum of $25 at a local salvage yard and put them in a '57 Chevy that I bought for her. a car she kept when she dumped me)
first gen all the way, eather a 70 or a 71, 454, buckets, console, black interior, 4-speed, 12 bolt posi w/ 4:10 gears, no a/c, no power windows or locks, no vinal top, of course i would add amarican racing torq-thrusts, headers, turbo mufflers, heads, a torqer intake and a big ol holly carb, 700 + CFM. top it off with a chrome air cleaner housing & maching finned aluminum valve covers, and some stickers in the 3/4 windows would finish the look, ( you know there good for like, 2 HP apeice, right? lol ) and i think i would order it black, but i have seen some in a coppery orange color ( like stacy davids "copperhead" truck) and it looks SWEET!!! maby as a respray...
you know what, theres a triple black 71 a lil ways from my house, guy wants $4,000 for it, restored driver w/ 350, bench seat, and auto on the tree..... but im doin the buick, so that has eaten up any funds i have!

It sure would be a dull World,

Look 4ward to more member's voting in the polls, to
see what their selection of a New Monte will `be.

I want a 1986 SS.
Definetly black, with orange or red accents on the car. With black interior of coarse.
Day I got it home Id drop a nice 383 in there.
(Id have to have a matching GNX)
