How to rock your engine forward

1. Take off your front dog bones, or just un-attach them.
2. Video shows the rest :D

This helps with spark plug changing, working on rear exhaust, etc.

What, no rear mounted winch?

Enzo, what do you have those chains connected to? I need to do my plugs but don't know where to put the winch/ratchet straps without damaging anything.

Car in park, open the driver door, push and pull the car with one foot on the e-brake. The car will rock, the engine will move with the car after a little while (these cars are heavy) when you see the engine moving forward just step on the e-brake, with it well timed it should hold there.

Enzo354 06-30-2011 05:04 PM

Do that^^

If you cant, connect it to the radiator support right on top, orrrr you could take out one of the dog bones, and put the bolt back in, hoold the strap to the bolt.

After unbolting the doggie bones, I used a ratchet strap, hooked to the rear engine lift bracket, then I dropped my 1/2 drive ratchet handle in a hole in the radiator support and hooked the other end to that...just a gentle ratcheting tilts it...watch the intake in the front dont crush the fan.

i heard almost the same thing. but instead it involves a tree and putting the car into reverse....:)
