I just wanna say that 4300K is the pure form of white, instead of 5000K
But great information here for sure :) |
i got a question. this may sound stupid but the highbeams are when you pull the nob all the way out, and the lows is hen you push it all the way in right? so when i turn on the car, with the nob pushed all the way in that would be the low eams, and wheni pull it one notch, they turn off, and if i pull it all the way out, that would be the highbeams right?
just so you know, i read every post but still got lost. =/ also i am looking for the lights that are green, now i need to go for a higher number, right, cause green would not be as bright as blue? |

So this "kit" that you bought to disable your DRL's.... I did it the easy way and i would recommend it to all of you doing hid's or even if you want to just run with the parking lights on...
pop up the front dash piece closest to the windsheild that has the ambient light sensor... take out the sensor and apply a piece of black electrical tape over the sensor, since the sensor is already black you cant even tell once you put the sensor back in the dash and presto. the car thinks its always night time so the hid's will come on. pull out the light nob one click and the parking lights. pull it out two and its back to the hid's! i put 12k in my headlights and 8k in my fog lights and both of those kits are the ebay ones just like you have in the write up and they are working great! little picky in the cold so i gotta turn em back off and on once in awhile to get the other one to come on but otherwise its great!! |
i read the grand prix guys saying their stock fog lense melt after hid install. you have any problem like that cuz i was thinking of getting HID fog lights too but don't any issue.
|
do they sell a kit so you can make it so your daytime lights and hids are on at the same time? that way i could get rid of the daytime/hi beams and put in slightly bluer hid on the dayrtime than do some green or yellow fogs
Or what if i just put 2 sets of hids in both light positions hooked both to battery and ran both sets of headlights to the low beam plug |
i too want to do the hid fogs now , i just installed my wire harness for the lows and really want hids , i see over on the g8 forums some guys talking about 25w hids for their fogs . id like to check into those but ddm has the lifetime warranty .
the bbengineering kit rocks for disabling the drls and auto lights , it has switches on it so i can turn it back to normal function . |
my tape over the sensor works fine and i can have my fog lights and regular night time lights on at the same time if i want to... and i have had the fog lights in for about 6 or 7 months now and have had no issues with the housing melting or anything... i got the 35 watt kit in both my head and fog lights. i didnt even hear about the 55 watt kit which is supposed to be way bright until a few weeks ago. a buddy has the 55 watt kit in his monte fog lights and hasnt had a problem either tho
|
no im talking about have the daytimes as hid the nights as hid and the fogs as hid all on at the same time. so 3 sets of lights. they got a kit?
