I've seen posted here that in order to "trick" the DRL's, you pop off the top dashboard to gain acces to the sensor to cover it with tape. Is it easy to re-install the top cover once it's been popped off? I've never messed with these interior bits before and I'm kinda nervous about popping stuff off.

Just curious, why do you want to "trick" the drls?

I was told that HID's burn up factory wiring. Is this true? If not, could someone tell me how to install Fogs, Highs, and Lows with the relay kit into my 2000 SS? I will have 2 12" Jl Audio subs with a 500 watt Alpine amp. I don't want the lights to dim when I'm using my subs either. Is this possible?

So the DRLs dont come on during the day... what good does HID lighting do when the sun is out?

For the lights dimming... add a capacitor to your setup; since you're only running 500watts I dont think your lights should dim in the 1st place.

Or some amps have capacitors built in (like mine)

This is not hid related, but has anyone else had their monte not start when the gas cap is off?

Since the ballasts for the HIDs draw more amperage then the OE lights the wiring can create resistance and get hot. There have been instances where the wiring actually melted the insulation off the wire. I recommend wiring them through a relay triggered by the OE circuit.

Replacing the bulbs that also double as the DRL is not recommended. Since they run at half power when in DRL mode there won't be enough amperage to excite the ballast.

Here are a couple different installation guides:
