Using NOS Safely?
I've never ran NOS before. I've always been kind of an "all motor" guy myself. But I just bought an '87 that has a 350 that is .30 over. It has 100 shot of NOS on it as well.
I know NOS can be used fairly safely, but was wondering what all I need to do to insure I don't burn anything up? Obviously not using it all the time, but besides that. I plan to only use it once in a blue moon at the track. Not often at all. The timing is already retarded 2 degrees. What all can I do to make my motor last with a NOS set-up?

take the bottel off while driving it daily LOL
past that just make sure everythign is in good shape im sure others on here like Boost might have more infor on this subject.

i dont know a bunch about NO2 but some safety features that i think are a must are:
-RPM activation switch high and low
-WOT switch
-make sure it is a wet and not dry system (wet=mix's fuel and no2)

NOS is actually really safe as long as it is hooked up properly like anything else. If you have leaks in the system then it will be much more dangerous. Make sure you have the correct safety equipment installed as above and you should be fine.
the problem with nos is many people look at it as a cheep mod... cause there are a bunch of cheep start up kits out there. if installed properly NOS does get expensive. if you take your std kit at 300-500 and then add all the safety features you NEED to keep from blowing the engine. your can quickly hit the 1000 mark. also the craving for more power often pushes people to step up to a higher jet and spray more nos then the fuel system and ignition system can handel!
this is what give nos such a bad name too many people pushing it too far and not taking the neccicary steps to run it safely.
