This is a restore car, originally it was a column shifter now it's a floor shifter. Can I use a newer year Monte shifter for my 86? I'm having trouble finding a original shifter for that year thanks .

Is the collar still in place on the steering column for the column shifter? are you just looking for the shifter handle? If so, I may still have mine from when I switched from column shift to floor shifter. You will also need to make sure your column shift linkage assembly is still intact if you are trying to go back to column shift.

 

yeah alot of guys used the newer W body cars shifter and console in there G bodys . looks good too.
