ok so as some of you on here know my monte was immobile for about 4 months because i thought the trans was going out. but it turned out to just be a fuse. "facepalm" the connectors inside the plug were too far apart so it was melting fuses as fast as i could replace them, but i fixed that and it hasnt done it since. but every now and then when i start from a dead stop it will shift fine but it will shift into third at about 22 mph. and the whole car shudders like its about to stall unless you give it enough gas to downshift. and it sometimes does this when shifting into o/d. anyone have any idea what the cause is? btw i have a 96 z34.

 

Sounds like a torque converter issue, or a solenoid going bad in the tranny. Did you check the fluid?

 

changed the fluid and filter first. i thought the shift solenoid was going bad but we had it checked and it was fine.
