I'm not sure but does a 97 z34 have two thermostats

 

It should have only one. I think it was hte later cars in like '06 or something with 2 thermostats.

the 97 Z34 has only one. it is right on top of the engine. really easy to change. you might need to twist and turn a bit to get the housing out of the way, but it is pretty easy. i would recomend going to a 180* thermostat for it. the DOHC's always tend to run a little lean and hot. so a colder Tstat will deff help.
