You're going to need a lot of parts than just the engine. You'll have to rewire the 2000 to accept the engine harness and connectors from the LS4. You'll need to run the gauges and everything from it too.

Here is a thread that details someone who did the swap: https://montecarloforum.com/forum/en...per-ls4-26283/

My recommendation is to get an L67 out of a Grand Prix or 04/05 Monte Carlo and use that engine.

For the L67 you would just need the engine, and wiring harness (or you can adapt your L36 wire harness for the handful of sensors that change)
And you would also need to get your PCM tuned for it.

98-02 Grand Prix
04/05 Monte Carlo / Impala SS

If you're serious about a LS4 swap, I'd buy a whole wrecked car. If you just buy an engine, it's going to be a pain to get all the stuff in place to make it run made worse by the fact that you're going to be hard pressed to find one at all at a local junkyard to pull parts from.

At least by getting the whole car, you know you've got everything to make it run & drive.

But I do agree, I'd just L67 swap it.

I wanna see the V8 swap!!

Betting the mechanical swap would be the easy part , swapping fuel , cooling system, suspension and electrical is where the nightmare would start. I would think it would be cheaper just getting a V8 car. Yes that just came from me .
