Centrifugal SuperCharger. It looks like a belt-driven turbo. Very rare on our cars.

There's what it looks like installed.

I have all of the pieces, I'm just waiting for my new Camaro before I do my install.

Again though, finding one of these is pretty rare.

I just noticed, everyone of those pictures has a breather. Arent they bad for the 3800?

Not if you have to block off the passageway and need to vent the crankcase. If you are running the stock system then it is bad to just add a breather for no reason

Here, let me show you an option for your car that is literally unobtainable.

How much does the kit go for if, if, if, you can find one?

ChibiBlackSheep Jan 25, 2013 09:45 AM

A CSC kit? They aren't made anymore, but if you find a Paxton Novi 1k you can have a kit made up again from Stattama (Matt told me they just don't do it anymore, but they have all of the molds to still make one). It's about $700 just for the driveshaft of the kit, plus all of the other odds and ends.

I was in the right-place at the right time, and Zipper was upgrading to a paxton 2k and sold me his 1k, and at the same time Stattama was parting out a car that had a CSC and sold me their kit for a very reasonable price.

Overall though, you are looking around the cost of a turbo system if you can even find one of these.

Alright, some more questions:
Chibi-you say superchargers arent good for out cars, do u mean motor? Could i buy a used supercharged 3800 or is that a dumb idea?
-i need to get a new tranny soon, is it a must to have the HD tranny with turbo/supercharger?
-also, my old Monte buddy sold his monte for a GXP and wants to race sometime at the track, what, if possible, should i do to have a chance at beating him?
-and finally, cost of everything thats necessary for a turbo/sc upgrade?

Tuning for our cars is a pain because there is no stock .bin file for an 00-02 with a supercharger. In 04 they have BIN files, but the transmission was changed in 03 to read differently. You kind of have to make your own hybrid of tuning and it's annoying.

If you can grab the whole engine + transmission and just swap everything to your car, it's the best bet. Top-Swapping it is tough on the 00-02. (No Impossible, but tough)

For the money of the supercharger + mods + tunings + everything else. Turbos are easier and can put out more power. It's more upfront cost, but I think it's worth it.

I agree with all above.

Will a Turbo'd 02 Monte compete with a stock GXP in a 1/4 mile?
