Supercharger question

Hey everyone, so I was just laying around thinking about mods to do to the Monte and supercharger is one that always comes up. I know they don't make a supercharger for the LS4, so that is probably not something I will do. But I was curious as to if a supercharger off of a 3800 engine would work? I don't see why it would, but again it's just one of those things that I was curious about. If that is something that would work, I may do that because I could just find one in a junkyard and get one there. Anyway, thanks for the info guys

I'm not sure about the supercharger off an l67 but I've seen videos of turbos for a ls4 that would be insane hp :)

Any supercharger would work. The problem is you need something to bolt it to. You'd have to come up with a custom lower intake manifold.

A supercharger on one of those engines would be sick. I think you'll need a cowl hood too lol

You would be able to compete with cobras then :) keep us posted on what u decide :)

i dont think the superchargers off the 3800 would be big enough to be efficient enough for the v8..... as another member stated cartuning performance makes a complete bolt in turbo kit for your car, thats the way i would go.

I agree with Turbo Monte, you figure out and fabricate a way to put a supercharger off the L67 on a v8, I think you're wasting your time. It's not going to distribute the air into a v8 like it should. Somewhere I saw where a guy with a Camaro tried to use 2 L67 SCs on a RWD v8 (one on both heads) and it just didn't do much at all on that engine.

If there is no after market SC for your car, then turbo charging is the next step you could look into.

I keep reading about you guys adding mods for the speed, which I'd love to do myself with the LS4, but how...or better yet what mods can be done to keep the transmission healthy to handle the extra punch? Reading how weak the trannies are I'm afraid as it now to get on it.

vette guy, triple edge performance is the guy to talk to for trans upgrades, also there is some parts GM racing made back in the 2005ish area that are now discontinued, if you can find these parts i suggest getting them as they are bullet proof parts that do not break... examples, gmr 1" chain set, GMR torsen differential. there is other parts they have made as well but the are the common parts everyone making big HP tries to find. they also made a aermet 800hp and aermet 1200hp input shaft, gmr 300m output shaft, and some kind of axle adapters to be able to use porsche 930 axles.

all of the GMR parts are super rare and pretty much impossible to find and if you do find them they are VERY expensive.

you only need there gmr parts if your making 400-500whp+ if your not making that you can just get the 7/8 chain set and a 300m input shaft and use the stock output shaft and stock axles. the 7/8 chain set and 300m input shaft triple edge can get for you or you can buy it from zzperformance or intense racing. i suggest the intense 300m over the zzp 300m there both very good input shafts but i have heard of 2 people breaking a zzp 300m input shaft and so far that i know of no one has broke a intense 300m input shaft. now the 2 zzp ones that broke were in 500-600whp cars.
