Supercharger boost controller??
 

has anyone heard of a boost cont. for the 3800 supercharger??? or does anyone have one? here is the link for it.. i was thinking of changing pulley sizes but if the boost cont. works should i change sizes??

i believe thats to lower ur boost. your going to need a pulley to up the boost. the blower runs on a belt where a turbo would run on exhaust gas and a boost controller should be able to up the boost. i could be wrong though since im not running either.

Exactly- whatever pulley size you have have will always be the max boost you can make. So if you're making 8psi now, nothing can increase that other than going to a smaller SC pulley or larger crank pulley.

All a boost controller can do is turn your boost down.

IMO, its a HUGE waste of money at almost $200- if you want to severly limit boost- pop the hood, take the engine cover off (its quick, just unscrew the oil cap neck and lift it out)- then unplug the BBV solenoid.

Don't know what the bbv solenoid is? Looking at the supercharger- follow it towards the drivers side until you see a small black cylinder with a little arm sticking out of the bottom (its on the supercharger before the throttle body)- it has a little vacuum line coming out of the side of it, and that goes to a little horizontal black box. The vac line comes in one side- on the other side is an electrical plug. Unplug that plug, and your boost drops to almost nothing (if you're letting someone borrow the car, or accidentally put in 87 octane gas). If you want literally no boost- just remove the supercharger belt instead.

I guess being able to run a different boost level for each season would be nice- but honestly, its cheaper to buy a MPS system and just swap pullies out twice a year.


As for should you change pulley sizes- what size do you have now? What are your current mods? How much KR do you currently have?
