Sticky Lifter

I have a sticky lifter but only after the oil has drained back into the pan (ie overnight) can you hear it and once the oil gets to circulating it goes away.At first it would take at least until I got down the street for the lifter to stop making noise but yesterday I ran a complete oil system cleaner through it where you drain the oil, put the cleaner in, letthe car run for 10 minutes, drain the cleaner, and change the oil again. This morning I started it up and it is noticebly better, the lifter is not as loud and now it goes away after about 15 seconds. My question is has anyone had a sticky lifter? And what did you use to fix it. I know the cleaner I used helped and all it will take is another jug but that stuff is 18 dollars and then I have to change the oil again. I was thinking maybe there might be an additive that someone has used that really worked without the oil system cleaner so I can put that in that would finish the job.

I don't know, but you might be able to just replace the lifter...

My guess is if it's leaking down after it sits awhile Bad lifter replace it, If it does it hot or cold just needs adjusted. I personally wouldn't use a oil system cleaner but thats me.
