Starter Problems! Help!
Hi all! Just hoping someone can help me with my '74 Monte Carlo recently up'd to HEI ignition 350 2bbl. My wife recently "borrowed" it. She came back and told me the starter had failed. Her friend put another one in. I get her back later on that month. Geesh what a mess! He must've been a toddler. I have two thicker black wires that I believe I know where they go. However I have a purple wire and a white wire (both thin). Could someone tell me where these wires go? On the starter post or solenoid post? Oh yeah to add to it the wires were stripped of the connectors! Im almost crying! Can someone help me out with a diagram or instructions. Thanks in advance, Nick

ok, here it is... The purple wire goes to the S terminal on the starter solenoid, that is your IGN switch wire... I believe the white wire goes to the starter battery post, but im not certian on that... i would have to see a Wiring diagram to make sure...

RE: Starter Problems! Help!
I looked on-line and found nothing in the way of a diagram that's free that is...
You would think it being a 74 someone would have something posted somewhere... [:@] |

OK, Just got out from under her again! I was very enthusiastic. I had one of the fusible link wires (thick black) going to the battery stud, and the other going to the solenoid post (the one that is very difficult to get to without taking the solenoid out).I had the light colored wire going to the other solenoid post. The Batter "+" Terminal went to the battery stud. Got in to start it and still nothing! I am verry confuzed! Please help me out. I am close to throwing my wrench! Thanks in advance, hopefully!
