speedometer Help for a new member??
 

Hello all. I have a 1988 Monte Carlo SS. i recently put a 200-r4 transmission in it, and everything is fine except for the speedometer. my tranny has an electric plug (newer) but my original part is the manual cable. I believe it came out of a chevy truck but not sure of the year or make.how can i get my speedo to work with the new tranny- (maybe a new speedo sensor?), before i have spend $ to get a digital dash. part name for the conversion?I really need the help. I also have pics of the tranny in my album pics. Thanks for any assistance

idk if the 2004r is like the 700r4, but if it is you could change tail shafts and gears and yadayadayada to convert from electric to mechanical speedo. youre going to have to really research it though, and then comb the junkyards. shouldnt be too difficult, but certainly not fun. the easier route would probably be to just get a mechanical speedo trans.
