shift kit?
what do you guys think about this ? TRANSGO SKŪ 4T65E TRANSMISSION SHIFT KIT (97-UP) its on ebay new for 43$

Transgo is the prefered shift kits for our cars. I would say go for it, ive only heard good things about them. The ZZP shift kit is the one ive heard terrible things about >_>;......Or just get a tune ! :]

That's what I thought , had my car tuned after a few mods, supercharger , ic, cai , exhaust , headers , t stat etc.... 2 weeks my stage 3 heads and xp hot cam are goin in so I will need a new dyno tune not to familiar with these... I originally thought a tune was pretty much the higher priced option

The dyno tune will SET your shift points more accurate than a shift kit will. A shift kit basically firms up your shifts to make it less floatty, however a dyno tune firms up your shifts, and if the tuner is good enough, elevates your shifts. I personally went dyno due to the extra tuning, and the fact i could get more mpg out of my car and more power with better shifts.

Shift kit is a good idea. When making the tune compensate for the shift kit you add crazy line pressures etc which is not as good on a trans compared to a shift kit. Tune for higher shift points is good but not firmness and quickness of shifts.
Talk to dave at triple edge performance on this he is wealth of knowledge. |
Just make sure you're down on firm/hard shifts cuz I personally don't like it I thought I would but in all honestly my driving style has changed and a shift kit is more appropriate for an aggressive driver. I'm more mellow now, though I also have the kit at its 3rd setting aka the firmest option so maybe switching to the softest setting might help but I'm too lazy to do the swap.
