shift kit
anyone got a shift kit for a 2000-05 monte carlo? if so what does it feel like. is it a big difference?
I dont know what it feels like but I have one for sale in the for sale thread in your interested in buying :) Click Here
I will have mine installed on monday. Ill let you know how it is!
You can also have the line pressures increased in a tune and it will feel similar. :)
Depending on what you do with the shift kit and tune the shifts can be a little bit harder, or VERY hard. I chose to have the very hard shifts with a combo of a physical shift kit and my tune has increased the line pressure to have quicker/firmer shifts. You can see what my shifts are like in some of my Youtube videos.

stupid question, but what would the benefits be other than being able to adjust shift time? Any idea if it'll help with longevity for the 4T65E-HD (since that's a common issue)?
It's kind of a double edged sword by getting shorter/firmer shifts. You will increase the life and durability of the clutch packs in the tranny, but the hard parts are going to take more stress due to the being "slammed" into gear. I honestly don't care because in my opinion, my Monte is living on borrowed time. My Monte started out it's modifications at about 60k miles and now it's around 160k miles on the original tranny (with about 10k or 15k miles with over 300whp). The tranny keeps on going, just like the bunny.

i have the zzp tune.. and yeah the line pressure is increased
If you have the tune, I wouldn't worry about the shift kit.
I got it back today. Was a noticeable improvement but not by much. The one I got had 3 stages. I had it set up for stage 2 and it wasnt that much of an improvement. Definetly noticeable though. I was expecting more though
