Ready To Rebuild!!!

Well the head gasket went in my 2002 pace car. Time for a rebuild of the old 3800. Options for best cam kit and thoughts on weather to bore it or not. And Go!

If you "just" have bad head gaskets, you can just change them and move on. No need to pull the engine.

But.... If you have other aspirations, I am sure people here can give ideas on how to spend your money lol!!!

What's your budget and what's your goals?

I with the Maniac ,rebuild the head and put head gaskets in unless there was more issues. If you want some extra power while it's apart port & polish the head while its off.

Impossible to reccomend a cam without knowing the plans for the car. What kind of boost is being used? How extreme are you willing to live with? What are your power goals?

Don't bother with over boring, the displacement gain isn't worth it - just add more boost. The cylinder walls aren't that thick to start with, if you go crazy with boring it, you'll end up losing power from bore distortion. You can't go far enough to make a notable difference in displacement anyways.
