Oil type

Just curious to see what oil you guys run in your cars. I usually run Mobil 1 full synthetic but have used the castrol edge with titanium before in other cars. What do you guys like

Before the blower, I ran Mobil Clean 5000, 5w-30 with a purolator filter.

Since I now have an oil fed supercharger, I run the same synthetic as my Camaro. Pennzoil platinum 5w-30 and a wix filter.

It's DEXOS approved, and tested slightly better than mobil1

Ahh I'll have to look into it. Can't believe how much better synthetic oil is then standard. Had a dirty bucket I put my oil filter in last oil change to catch the oil and the oil like cleaned the bucket lol even after 3500 miles

Run a synthetic as well. Would use AMSOIL if it came in the weight the car needed. So instead I run Redline 15W50 and use a NAPA Gold filter (made by WIX)

Jw what's the need for 15-50

Matt who built the engine wants this used, I don't question why. They build and run dragsters, Paul Snell the dad won Top Dragster in 2012. So I figure if they play at that level, I'm a dummy and will do what he tells me to do. Want the engine to live as long as it can.

I'm all about the synthetic oil and never changing brands on a given engine. I use Mobil 1 5W30 in the BudChev.

Something like 20 years ago, I had a Firebird that used a quart of oil about everything 3 weeks. I just took a job in a lube shop and switched to Quaker State Synthetic. At the time they advertised it was good for 12,000 [I]kms[/s]. I don't know about that interval, but that Firebird never used a drop after I switched to synthetic. And I've never used anything else in any of my cars since.

Oil is cheap insurance

I just switched to synthetic in my SS this week, found a place in another town that beat every other competitors price by $30.00 for an oil change, and I watched them open and pour in the car ;) They also recommend 12,000 kms between changes but I'm not that optimistic and don't trust that much in it, but here's hoping. Going to get the wifes Monte done next week and keep them both on synthetic, her car has low mileage so if I can prolong the life by switching I am all for it

Correct me if I am wrong, but to switch to synthetic an engine flush must be done before in order to get all of the organic residue out...

Up to you but synthetic oil has cleaners in it. Next time you chsnge oil I dought anything would be left in it. They say you can go like over 5k miles with synthetic but I always change mine right at 3500 to keep it nice and clean
